What is Stock Split?

When a company issues more shares to its current shareholders by reducing the face value of each share at a specified ratio.

  • A stock split increases the number of shares by decreasing the face value of shares at a specified ratio, but the total value of the investment remains the same.
  • A stock split is done to increase the liquidity in stock trading. Because the number of shares increases.
